ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Justice for Mike Brown Leadership Coalition is asking the public to boycott businesses during Thanksgiving weekend.
The coalition is one of the groups behind the boycott. The group said the boycott would force businesses to put pressure on Mo. Gov. Jay Nixon to appoint a special prosecutor in the Michael Brown shooting case.
“We are standing firm that we’re calling people to not spend their money that weekend,” said Zaki Baruti with the Justice for Leadership Coalition.
Those behind the boycott said businesses owned by African-Americans are exempt.
