Veterans Day events around St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( – In honor of Veterans Day many local communities are celebrating by hosting events to honor servicemen.

Here is a list of some of the events happening throughout the area:

Senior Service Plus will hold a ceremony and breakfast which will be open to the public starting at 7:00 a.m. Any servicemen and women that can provide proof of service in the military will receive a free breakfast.

The Mid-County Family YMCA in Brentwood, Missouri will celebrate Veteran’s Day with a ceremony featuring a flyover by an antique B52 Bomber, Washington University Cadets raising the American Flag and remarks from State Representative Gina Mitten. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m.  

VFW Post 805 and Ladies Auxiliary will host a parade in O’Fallon, Illinois starting at 2:00 p.m. in the O’Fallon City Park.

The City of St. Charles will have a special program starting at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Veterans Memorial on Bishop’s Landing.
