Soccer team celebrating victory has equipment stolen outside restaurant

(KMOV.com) – The St. Charles Community College Woman’s Soccer team was celebrating a victory at an O’Fallon, Ill. restaurant when thieves stole much of the team’s gear.

The team was celebrating a win over Southwest Illinois College by eating at a Texas Roadhouse when police said the criminals broke into the team’s van and took a variety of items.

“Cell phone, money, identification,” said Terry Clymer, a parent of one of the soccer players. “My daughter lost everything, her cleats, and her uniform. They took everything.”

The victory the team was celebrating allowed it qualify for a tournament in Florida, but the expense of replacing the stolen items may prohibit the squad from participating.

“They cashed their paychecks and it was stolen. How are they going to go down with no money? It’s ridiculous, it’s sad.” Clymer said.
