RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Two people are facing charges after one of them allegedly tried to pass a bad check at a Brentwood bank before leading police on a short chase the wrong way on Interstate 64 Monday night.

Police said Tara Hodge is charged with Forgery and Zechariah Smith is charged with Resisting Arrest.

Hodge allegedly attempted to pass a bad check at a bank before a teller called police. According to authorities, when police arrived, the suspects fled onto I-64 and briefly drove westbound in the eastbound lanes, where they caused one of three accidents.

The pair then tried to get away on foot. Police said the suspects tried to hide in a storm drain on York Drive before they were caught.
