ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) –Multiple police departments were involved in a police pursuit on Interstate 70 around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

A Pine Lawn patrol officer observed shots from the suspects' vehicle at 4300 Peyton Lane in Pine Lawn. Multiple vehicles were hit by the gunfire, but no one was injured. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the two suspects continued driving.

The pursuit began on eastbound 70 with the Pine Lawn Police Department. During the pursuit, shots were fired from the suspects’ gold Nissan, but it's unclear if the shots were aimed at police.

The suspects then exited Interstate 70 at St. Louis Avenue in North City, throwing their gun out of the vehicle at 11th and Chambers. After tossing the gun, the suspects then re-entered Interstate 70 and headed west, exiting near Grand. St. Louis City Police assisted Pine Lawn police officers in stopping the suspects by deploying spike stripes.

After stopping the car, both suspects were arrested. A significant amount of drugs were also found in the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
