(ST. LOUIS ) KMOV – Two teenagers were shot Saturday evening in a drive-by shooting in South City. St. Louis Metro Police Lt. Ken Lammbert said it happened as a group of young teens were walking home from Fox Park.
“It is scary. I’m a parent, for any parent you always wonder where your kids are, It’s not late at night, you would think at 6:00 walking home that kids would be fine,” said Lt. Lammbert.
The five teens were a few blocks from the park, walking through an alley near Iowa and Magnolia when a dark colored, two-door car pulled up.
“Two subjects pulled up to them, asked them where they were from before they could say any answer, they saw a barrel of a gun, and took off running. They heard several shots,” said Lt. Lammbert.
A 13 year old boy was struck in the arm and a 14 year old boy was shot in the back. According to EMS, both were transported to the hospital in serious condition. Right now police are trying to determine if there is a connection between the teens and the shooters.
“From the boys we talked to, they said they didnt know the boys [in the car],” said Lt. Lammbert.
The rest of the teenagers were picked up by their parents. Police are checking surrounding businesses to see if there was any surveillance video.
Police say they are looking for a black man, 20 to 25 years old, with slight facial hair and wearing a black stocking hat.
