CHICAGO (AP) -- A 15-year-old boy has been shot and killed in Chicago.
Police say a gunman in a dark-colored minivan opened fire Friday night, striking the boy in the stomach. He died later at Comer Children's Hospital.
Authorities identified the boy as Deon Gilbert.
His mother, Ida Hall, tells the Chicago Sun-Times that Gilbert was walking to a gas station on the Far South Side when he was shot.
She told the newspaper her son had gotten into a fight outside his school two weeks ago, but she doesn't know if that incident might be linked to the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
