CHICAGO (AP) – Illlinois Governor Pat Quinn says a Wisconsin trainmaker is welcome to move its jobs to Illinois.
Quinn is inviting Talgo Inc. to come to the state after Wisconsin's newly elected Republican governor said he wanted to give back federal money for a proposed high-speed rail project or use it for something else.
Quinn sent a letter to the Milwaukee company Wednesday. He says Illinois will do whatever it can to lure them.
Illinois officials have also said they would take any federal money Wisconsin doesn't want to use for high-speed rail projects in Illinois.
The federal stimulus bill allocated $810 million for a Madison-to-Milwaukee line.
