Hazelwood community raises money for sisters struck by car

(KMOV)-- Hazelwood students will raise money for two sisters who were struck by a car on Halloween night.

The Armstrong elementary school's Parent Teachers Association is hosting a pizza and bingo night at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Next week the students will raise money by throwing pies at a teacher.

A source close to the family told News 4 the girls are making progress. Five-year-old Shylia Chapman is off her breathing tube but hasn't opened her eyes. Eleven-year-old Shylena is sitting up on her own and attempting to walk.
