HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) -- A 12-year-old northeast Missouri boy's alleged joy ride was no joy to his parents.
Authorities say the Hannibal boy took his parents' car early Sunday, before he was stopped by an officer after the law enforcer saw extensive front-end damage to the car.
Investigators say the car had struck the trailer of a tractor-trailer unit.
The boy wasn't injured, by he's facing charges of tampering with a vehicle, leaving an accident scene, violating curfew and several traffic infractions.
He's not being publicly identified because of his age, and he's been turned over to juvenile authorities.
