BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- East St. Louis High School is out of the Illinois high school football playoffs.
St. Clair County Associate Judge Richard Aguirre on Thursday refused to grant District 189 another temporary restraining order that would allow them to appear in the playoffs.
With the ruling the Belleville West Maroons, who were beaten by East St. Louis on Saturday, are back in the playoffs.
Last week, the Illinois High School Association ordered the East St. Louis Flyers to forfeit five of its nine victories during 2010 season and all wins from last year.
The association determined defensive player Charles Tigue was ineligible, as was a second player.
Aguirre later found the East St. Louis School Board didn't receive enough time to respond to evidence the IHSA used to make its ruling.
