(KMOV)-- A man was arrested after firing shots at officers in a north St. Louis alley.

Ronnell Hood, 19, is charged for 2 counts 1st Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, 2 counts Armed Criminal Action and 1 count Resisting Arrest.

The incident occurred in the 4600 block of Labadie, Saturday around 7:40 p.m.

Officers said they were on patrol when they heard shots fired in the area. They allegedly observed Hood in an alley between Labadie and Greer armed with a rifle, firing into the air.

Authorities say when Hood saw the two officers pull into the alley, he allegedly started firing his weapon at them. One officer drew his weapon and fired two shots at Hood.
No one was injured.
After a brief foot pursuit the suspect was taken into custody and two assault rifles were recovered.
Hood’s bail is set at $75,000.
