CHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn says voting "is the best way that citizens can speak the language of democracy."

Quinn spoke those words at a church on Chicago's northwest side where he voted Tuesday. And he has a prediction for his tight race against Republican state Sen. Bill Brady.

Quinn says he's optimistic he'll win, and he thinks he ran a good campaign -- with no regrets.

Brady voted Tuesday afternoon in Bloomington.

Both candidates spent the day doing last-minute campaigning before the polls close at 7 p.m.
