St. Louis County offers tax incentives for company to stay in the area

(KMOV) – St. Louis County wants to keep St. Louis-based Express Scripts in the county, and is offering strong incentives to do so.

Express Scripts wants to expand by adding a 225,000 square foot building – and to encourage the company to stay in St. Louis County, there’s a proposal that the company should get a 50 percent reduction in real and personal property taxes for 10 years.

The county says it offered similar packages to Scottrade, Edward Jones and the National Archives.

The Express Scripts expansion would be just across Interstate 70 from the company headquarters.
