(KMOV)--St. Charles County Ambulance District paramedics received a $4000 grant from State Farm Insurance Company to fund their Halloween glow bracelet program.
The program will distribute 15,000 glow bracelets on Halloween night to trick-or-treators.
The district applied for and received a State Farm Insurance Company “Safe Neighbors” grant to fully fund this year’s program.
Ambulances will stage in subdivisions throughout the county handing out treats and reflective devices in an effort to insure a safe night of trick or treating.
The St. Charles County Ambulance District paramedics has run this program for 4 years. Since the program began, no child has been struck by a vehicle on Halloween night.
The grant has enabled the District to double the program.
Crews will begin staging in subdivisions from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Sunday.
