(KMOV) -- One man is in police custody after a suspected arson to Bridgeton home.
The fire broke out Friday evening at 3230 Lake Avenue in Bridgeton, at the residents of a 54-year-old woman. At the same time as the fire, police received a call for domestic dispute at that address.
According to officials, two cans of flammable liquid were found in the house. According to neighbors, the man accused of lighting the house on fire was seen watching calmly across the street as the house burned and the woman ran for safety.
Police say a woman was taken to the hospital after the fire, apparently because she had been abused. Neighbors say the trouble started a few months ago when the woman bought the house and her ex-husband refused to leave.
