A public meeting has been scheduled regarding the development of a park in honor of former First Baptist Church Maryville pastor Fred Winters.
Village trustees approved development of the planned park at a board meeting last year, which will be called Fred Winters Park.
The meeting is set for 10 a.m. on Jan. 30 at Village Hall.
The park will be located on approximately 4 acres of land which the village has owned for more than 60 years at the end of Duke Drive, west of Route 159. It runs adjacent to a bike trail and lies just north of the YMCA.
Last year, grant money in the amount of $85,000 was awarded for the park’s construction.
