This is the frustrating side of deadlines and television news. Photographer Bill McCormac and I drove to Springfield early this morning to get a spot in the gallery to view IL Gov Pat Quinn's State of the State address which was scheduled for noon. It was a long speech. Gov. Quinn spoke for an hour and twenty minutes, covering all topics, and glossing over some of them. Still, there was substance in his speech, and we raced to get reaction afterward. Unfortunately, all that takes time. So did the drive back from Springfield. Once back at the station, we barely had time to edit some video and pull a sound bite from the Governor for the 5pm show. By 6pm, at least we had reaction on. That's the good thing about KMOV.COM. You'll find more, there.
