KMOV - In the hours before Mark McGwire's admission Monday to past steroid use, the former Cardinal called a number of people to issue apologies.
One of the people McGwire called is Don Hooten, one of the nation's largest voices on the negative effects of steroids.
Hooton's son Taylor committed suicide in 2003 in the midst a steroid-induced depression.
McGwire promised to become a national spokesperson on steroid use, but has not followed through since donating $15,000 to the Hooten Foundation.
