(KMOV) -- An Amtrak train derailed near St. Louis leaving travelers stranded for hours.

Amtrak confirms the Texas Eagle train derailed just after 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.

None of the 176 passengers or nine crew members was injured.

This was a minor derailment and the train did have heat and electricity during the incident.

News 4 received several calls overnight from frustrated travelers and family and friends who were waiting to pick them up.

Those who called the News 4 newsroom say Amtrak never mentioned the word derailment and claim representatives weren't helpful.

The weather has caused many problems for Amtrak. That railroad also had to suspend service between Chicago and Denver, which included a stop in St. Louis.
