Just left the St. Louis City garage. I must admit the City Streets Department is working hard to prepare for Thursday's possible snow storm. I witness driver after driver load salt into their plow trucks. I also witnessed one worker make a solution called brine. The substance is a salt water mixture that helps prevent the roads from freezing. Two city workers will travel more than 80 miles today around the city placing the mixture on the ground. The goal is that the mixture will keep the roads safe on Thursday morning. I am told many of the drivers will be on standby through the night if the snow gets heavy. St. Louis City Streets Department starts plowing after more than two inches of snow is on the ground.
