We cover robberies and burglaries all the time. And most of the time it seems the suspects are young men in their late teens to mid-20s.
When Town and Country police charged 40 and 41-year old neighbors from St. Louis I was taken aback.
Even the sergeant I interviewed said this was a little different.
"It's a little strange that they're in their 40s," says Sgt. Chip Unterberg. "We're used to seeing somewhat younger criminals but criminals of all ages have different motivation."
Unterberg told me one of the suspects, 41-year old Mark Leachman used to work at the restaurant he allegedly robbed in mid-November. It was that robbery that did the suspects in. One of them left behind a stocking cap and police had the DNA tested and got a match.
