ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams' season finale fell well short of a sellout, forcing the third straight local TV blackout of a home game.
About 8,000 tickets remained unsold earlier in the week for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers (7-8). The Rams (1-14) did not seek an extension past Thursday's noon deadline to sell more tickets and allow a local broadcast.
The Rams are 0-7 this year at the 66,000-seat Edward Jones Dome. The announced crowd for a 16-13 loss to the Texans on Dec. 20 was 46,256, and just 47,475 fans were on hand for the 27-17 loss to Seattle on Nov. 29.
