St. Louis: Man charged in 2 burglaries

On Thursday, December 24, 2009, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued warrants on Kevin J. Jackson, 34 years of age, of the 7300 block of Virginia, St. Louis, Missouri 63111, for Burglary in the Second Degree, and Stealing Over $500. Bond has been set at $20,000. A photo of Jackson is attached and can be viewed online.

On Sunday, December 20, 2009, at 10:30 PM and on Monday, December 21, 2009, at 5:30 AM, officers from the South County Precinct responded to the 900 and 3300 block of Lemay Ferry Road for reports of two burglaries at closed businesses. Surveillance video from one of the businesses showed a suspect near one of the stores. A tip called into Crimestoppers identified the suspect on the video. Detectives tracked down the location in St. Louis City where the suspect was staying but were unable to find him home. St. Louis City Police Officers assisted in the arrest attempts and eventually took Jackson into custody during a traffic stop on Wednesday, December 23, 2009.

St. Louis County Police Chief Timothy Fitch stated that, "The officers and detectives did an outstanding job investigating this incident. This is a great example of the St. Louis County Police and St. Louis Metropolitan Police Departments working together."
