BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are searching for two men after an armed robbery at a Belleville, Illinois gas station Thursday morning.

Police say two men armed with a handgun entered a Circle K store in the 5900 block of Old St. Louis Road around 3:00 a.m.

According to police, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and some cigars from the store.  Officers recovered the stolen merchandise a short time later.

Police describe one of the suspects a 5-foot-9, 170 pound man who was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery. The second suspect is described as a 5-foot-6, 170 pound man who was wearing a red shirt at the time of the robbery.
