BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- A Metro East college safety officer is facing felony charges after a family dispute.
According to police, 51-year-old Michael Stark, who is the Assistant Director of Public Safety at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, knocked out windows of a family member's truck and then shot a gun at it.
Police said an argument had erupted between Stark and his step-daughter's husband during a barbecue.
Stark is charged with criminal damage to property and reckless discharge of a firearm. He is also charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for pushing his wife.
Stark was placed on paid administrative leave.
