ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two men in their 40’s are in custody after beating a man and robbing six people in a St. Louis home on Saturday.
According to police, a 41-year-old and 42-year-old man are in custody after they entered a home in the 3700 block of Oregon at 9:31 p.m., displayed firearms and took items from the residence.
Police say a 32-year-old man was struck by one of the suspects in the face during the robbery. The male victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Two guns, as well as the victims’ property taken by the suspects, were recovered from the scene of the robbery.
Police say warrants will be applied for at the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
When authorities arrived on the scene, a dog emerged from the residence and began aggressively barking at those in the yard, police say. Authorities say the dog charged and attempted to bite an officer. According to police, the officer attempted to stop the dog by yelling. In fear for his safety, the officer fired his weapon at the dog, striking it once.
Police say the dog ran back into the house and the Humane Society arrived to take custody of the dog.
The investigation is ongoing.
