EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Highland, Illinois man was sentenced to 12 years in jail for sending and receiving explicit photos of an underage girl.

Daniel C. Shaw, who went by the name “Josh Shackfer”, was sentenced to 12 years in jail for sending explicit photos of himself to a 15-year-old girl in 2011. Shaw told police the girl sent him between five and seven pictures in return.

Police say Shaw provided a voluntary statement to the FBI in 2011 where he admitted to sending several pictures to the underage girl.

On Thursday, the U.S. District Court sentenced Shaw, 39, for transportation and possession of photos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Shaw was sentenced to six years for each crime to run concurrently.
