(KMOV.com) – The Highland School District said misinformation is spreading about its negotiations with the teacher’s union.
The union and district are currently negotiating a new contract. The previous contract expired August 31, and teachers voted to authorize a strike.
The district said all teachers have received a raise over the past three years, even though it has been reported that raises have not been given out since 2010.
The district said it met with the union Friday. It said the union offered a one year contract, but said the district offered a mutli-year deal.
The district said the meeting ended at 9:05 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 8. The district believes the union will respond to the district's offer at that meeting.
