(KMOV.com) -- Police have identified the victims in a shooting that occurred in north St. Louis Friday morning.

Authorities say the incident occurred in the 1200 block of Goodfellow around 8:00 a.m.

Police say James Dent, 34, and Steven Dent, 25, both of the 5700 block of Bartmer, were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirm they were brothers.

Authorities say they found James Dent on a sidewalk when they arrived on scene. Police then located Steven Dent on a curb in the 5800 block of Julian.

Police say both victims sustained gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, police say.

The investigation is ongoing.
