ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – More than 35,000 people are expected to attend the annual Loufest which will kick off in Forest Park Saturday afternoon.
Loufest officials say this year’s weekend concert series will be bigger than ever. Organizers say they are expecting thousands to come to the area to watch 40 bands on four different stages.
Organizers say they could not give an exact estimate on just how much money the event will generate for the local economy, but it is expected to be a lot when food, hotels and last minutes essentials are considered.
Last year during Loufest 29 cars were broken into. This year, city officials say break-ins are down 55 percent throughout Forest Park and there will be a contingency of officers throughout the area during Loufest.
