New MoDOT data provides information on high traffic roads

Posted: Updated:

(KMOV.com) – MoDOT has released new information about which Missouri roads are having traffic problems.

MoDOT collects data on the roads every month, and compiles it to see a trend.

For example, northbound I-270 from I-55 to Riverview is expected to be the slowest around the Big Bend exit from 7:15 a.m.- 8:00 a.m.

Those traveling eastbound on I-64/40 from the split with I-70 in Wentzville can expect back-ups between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. near the Maryville Center exit in Chesterfield. Westbound I-64 is busiest around Hampton in St. Louis City. MoDOT said I-70 has very few trouble spots, but does have areas with high volume.

MoDOT told News 4 they have begun to station crews near spots where crashes occur or where traffic slows down.

MoDOT said data was not available for I-55 and I-44. News 4 reached out for data from IDOT, but did not receive a response.
