(BaseballStL) -- Marco Gonzales gets the call in the second game of a day-night double header between the Cardinals and Cubs in his fourth MLB start.

It's been almost two months since the southpaw pitched at Busch Stadium, but Gonzales is still looking for his first win in the bigs. With the Cardinals, Gonzalez has gone 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA in only 14.0 innings pitched.

However, the Cardinals' 26th man has veteran backstop Yadier Molina calling his pitches. Molina will hit fifth in Game 2 of the double header.

But Gonzales has held his own down in Triple A Memphis. Since being sent down on July 7th, Gonzaleshas gone 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA in 8 appearances. And he even hit a home run in his first at-bat in Triple A.

Press Box Notes

Jon Jay has hit safely in his last 18 out of 20 games. He's hitting well above .300 since the All-Star break. Read more about Jay's prowess at the plate here.

Tyler Lyons relieved Justin Masterson in Game 1 Saturday and struck out 8 batters in 4.2 innings. Those 8 strike outs are the most by a reliever since mark Littell struck out 8 Dodgers back in May of 1978 and the first lefty reliever to do so since Al Hrabosky fanned 9 batters in September 1974.

When scoring four or more runs, the Cardinals have a winning percentage of .753 with a 55-18 record.

Jhonny Peralta's next home run will the 175th of his career which will pull him within one homer of tying Troy Tulowitzki for 17th among all-time shortstops.
