MoDOT warns drivers to be aware of 'pavement blow ups'
By Stephanie Baumer
(KMOV.com) – MoDOT is warning drivers to be aware of buckling roads in the St. Louis area.
Officials say the heat is causing “pavement blow ups.” MoDOT says this happens when heavy rain hits during a heat wave. The moisture can seep into a crack in the pavement and the heat causes the road to buckle.
MoDOT encourages drivers to call them to report any bad pavement.
