KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Three people are in custody, and two are facing charges after a man dressed as a female robbed a Kirkwood store using a handgun.
Jevon Clark has been charged with first degree robbery, and Quintez Taylor has been charged with resisting arrest in connection with the robbery.
According to police, a man wearing a wig, dress and sunglasses entered a Walgreens store in the 400 block of North Kirkwood Road at 2:42 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the man displayed a handgun and announced a robbery to the store manager.
The suspect escorted the store manager and another employee to various cash registers in the store and proceeded to steal cash from them, police say. After robbing the cash registers, the suspect told the employee and manager to go into the manager’s office. Once they were in the manager’s office, the suspect fled on foot.
Police say they were in the area when the employees called them. Police say when they arrived on the scene they noticed a vehicle leaving the area and attempted to stop it. The suspect’s vehicle failed to stop on Kirkwood Road when the car went down a side street and turned onto Manchester Road. The vehicle finally stopped on Manchester, east of Berry, according to police.
Two people were taken into custody once the vehicle stopped, another person fled the scene on foot but was taken into custody a short time later. Authorities have not identified the third suspect.
The Walgreens employees suffered minor injuries during the incident, but no medical treatment was needed.
Police recovered the cash and a gun from the suspects.
