(KMOV.com) – One person is dead and another is injured following a shooting in north St. Louis Saturday night.
Police say the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at Rumbold Park when a group of people were approached by two men who then began firing shots.
Officers say that when they arrived at the scene they found 20-year-old Daron Powell, of the 3600 block of Garfield, lying on the sidewalk. Police say Powell sustained a gunshot wound to his right flank. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say a 22-year-old woman was also shot. She sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
