EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV) -- A body was found by fishermen Sunday morning on the banks of the Mississippi River in East St. Louis, authorities said.
Illinois State Police said the body was found around 9:45 a.m. near the Eads Bridge.
The body was dressed in orange Dickies shorts, a white Faded Glory shirt with orange stripes and white Nike tennis shoes, Master Sgt. Dave Wasmuth said.
The race and gender of the body could not be immediately determined because it was in an advanced stage of decomposition, police said.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
