Belleville man robbed at gunpoint in his apartment by someone he knew

(KMOV) -- An East St. Louis man is in custody for robbing the apartment of a friend in

Police responded to an armed robbery late Tuesday afternoon. Police say a man told them Richard D. Brown Jr., 19, had been to the man's apartment before. When the man heard a knocking at the door and saw Brown, he answered.

Brown and an unidentified accomplice then pushed their way in the apartment, pointed a pistol at the man and forced him to lie on the couch, according to police.

Police said the suspects searched the apartment, taking some cash, a Playstation console and a Dominos delivery bag. They left the man unharmed.

The man was later able to identify Brown and he has been charged with Home Invasion and Armed Robber, both felonies.
