Children needed to create coloring book

The call is out for entries in a region-wide environmental art contest.

The Sierra Club and the Alton Marketplace Association are challenging eco-conscious creative youth in sixth through 12th grades to submit designs for the 2009 River Coloring Book to be called "The Watershed and Me."

The design should be for a black outline page of the type found in most coloring books. It should include a 50-word (or less) explanation of the design and how it relates to the watershed and the people who live there. The watershed is the natural area between the bluffs and the river and includes all of the streams that empty into the river.
