PARIS (AP) -- Imagine being told you couldn't use the Internet because you were pirating music and movies.
That's what may happen to thousands of French Internet users, now that a law approved by President Nicolas Sarkozy has been approved.
The law would see Internet ties cut for those who repeatedly pirate copyrighted music and movies.
As you might imagine, the law is being embraced by the entertainment industry in France.
But opponents are trying to have the law declared unconstitutional.
The French Constitutional Council will make a decision on that within a month. If it passes muster, the measure takes effect by summer.
