Former E. St. Louis firefighter pleads guilty to drug charge

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- A former southern Illinois fire lieutenant has pleaded guilty to drug possession charges after authorities found 12 pounds of marijuana at his home.

Deandre Page received 18 months of probation Thursday after pleading guilty to a felony charge of unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis.

A message left for Page's attorney, Justin Kuehn, was not immediately returned Saturday.

Officers raided Page's home in 2007 and found the marijuana in a black garbage bag in the basement. The bag was next to scales and Page's East St. Louis Fire Department jacket.

A small amount of cocaine and cash bundled in thousand-dollar increments was also found.

The 40-year-old Page served with the fire department for 14 years before being fired in September after being charged.
