(KMOV)-- I'm at the University of Phoenix Stadium, and the Memphis team bus just rolled past. It's nearly time for the Tigers to take the floor against Memphis, and Missouri fans everywhere are thinking/hoping/dreaming of an upset and a chance at going to the Final Four Saturday. Naturally, Missouri is a five point underdog to the #2 seed Tigers of Memphis, but the fact that they're even in this position is a victory of sorts. But, here's a little something to make it even more dramatic: I would argue that if the Tigers beat Memphis, it would be the biggest win in school history. Here's why: Missouri has never beaten a seed better than a #4 in the NCAA Tournament, and when you consider where the program was just a couple of years ago AND the caliber of opposition they'd be defeating tonight if they were able to pull it off, this moment would the high point for the basketball program. Of course, tonight's high point could be improved upon just 48 hours later if the Tigers were able to advance to the school's first ever Final Four. But, first things first...try and pull off another surprise against John Calipari's Memphis Tigers. I go back and forth on the outcome, but I do feel like...no matter what...it's going to be the kind of game that will be fun to watch. As Mike Anderson said yesterday when I talked to him at the team hotel, as a college basketball coach, I'm looking forward to watching it. I have a feeling that's something he has in common with just about every basketball fan in the state tonight. Let's hope Coach Anderson builds an even stronger bond between him and Tiger fans withwhat would be the school's biggest win tonight in the Sweet 16.
