Mizzou heads to Colorado to battle the Buffalos

Columbia, MO -- The No. 11 Missouri Tigers will pack up their momentum and travel to Colorado on Saturday to take on a dormant Buffalos squad.

While Missouri (22-4, 9-2 in the Big 12) is looking for their 10th Big 12 victory this season, Colorado has already reached their own magic 10 - losses.

The Buffalos (9-16, 1-10) are coming off a loss on Wednesday at Nebraska. Missouri has not played since Saturday when, coincidently, they easily beat the Cornhuskers in Columbia.

Mizzou's 9-2 start in conference play is their best start ever since the Big 12's inception 13 years ago. At 22-4, this is their best overall start since 1993-94.

If the heavily favored Tigers take down the Buffalos, it will be the first time Missouri has won 10 Big 12 games since the 1999-2000 season. It would also be their 6th consecutive conference win, the first time they have accomplished that feat since 1999-2000.

One of the few bright spots for Colorado has been the play of sophomore guard Cory Higgins, who is averaging 18 points a game. Guard Dwight Thorne II, a junior, also chips 13 points a game.

The Tigers will try to snatch a few steals from those two, and they will likely get a few as Missouri is averaging 10.8 a game - second most in Big 12 history.

Forwards Leo Lyons and DeMarre Carroll have been impressive all season, but Missouri's reserves have been impressive, averaging 30 points a game.

Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
