St. Louis (KMOV) -- Traffic in the Brentwood area is going to get a little more congested.
As part of phase two of the I-64 project, crews shut down Hanley Rd. from Eager to Clayton Rd. at 7:00 a.m. Monday. Crews will be tearing down and rebuilding two new Hanley bridges.
The intersection at Hanley and Eager is almost always congested and now that crews have closed the Hanley Bridge, traffic will only get worse.
If you're driving north on Hanley, you'll either detour westbound on Eager to 170 north or head over to Brentwood.
Southbound Hanley drivers will come to a dead end at Clayton Rd. Only subdivision traffic will be allowed past this intersection.
There is some good news in all of this. When the bridge is complete, drivers won't have to sit through all the lights to get where they're going.
The Hanley overpass is expected to reopen in August.
