CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Trent Meacham and Mike Tisdale each scored 15 points to lead Illinois past Detroit 82-51 on Saturday.

Meacham and Tisdale combined to shoot 12-for-14 from the field to help Illinois (10-1) shake off a nine-day break. In just 14 minutes of play, Meacham made all five of his shots, including three from 3-point range as the Illini shot 64.4 percent.

"We'll take that any night but we know we can't rely on that and expect to make those threes every night," Meacham said. "We picked up our intensity up and that's what we have to keep doing and rely on."

The Illini shooting allowed them to overcome a season-high 20 turnovers against the Titans (3-7).

Illinois scored on six of its first seven possessions and held Detroit scoreless for a five minute stretch in the first half to build a 34-26 lead at the intermission.
