(KMOV) – General Motors’ announcement on Monday that it is recalling 1.5 million vehicles has many local owners concerned.
The problem stems from the heated washer fluid system, which could cause a fire. The recall covers 15 models made from 2006-2009.

This news follows this week’s Chrysler recall, and it raises more questions about the future of the auto industry.
While it may raise eyebrows, the recalls are far from the scope of the problems that have plagued Toyota with recalls over concerns about acceleration problems.
Local car dealership owner Dave Sinclair says he believes that the Toyota problems have made government officials and auto makers more sensitive to potential defects.
“I don't think it's a problem, I think it's a fact. But I'm glad there's a big spotlight on everybody,” he says. “It's safer, it seems more even handed, and it can't help but make everybody improve and be more aware."
