(KMOV) -- Established in the early 1800s, Edwardsville is a community that prides itself on preserving history.
An important part of that history is the city’s school district. The building that houses Columbus school was built more than a century ago now houses hundreds of students, has a state-of-the-art media center and continues to keep up with the needs of an ever-growing district.
News 4’s John Knicely shows why the building is so special, and why the area has such a strong commitment to preserving the historical structure.
Be sure to tune in to KMOV on Friday when News 4 anchors Vickie Newton and Larry Conners will broadcast live from Edwardsville during the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts. They will be at the Route 66 Fair in Edwardsville City Park.
