The historic Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, Illinois is getting a makeover, and is set to reopen in the near future.
Edwardsville Alderman Rich Walker is heading the renovation, and is enthusiastic about what the theater can bring to the community.
The theater opened its doors in 1909, but closed down in the mid 80s. Walker is confident the people of Edwardsville will be proud of the renovation.
Not only will there be movies, but other types of entertainment as well - the theater will play host to small retail shops.
The cost of the entire project is nearly $3 million, most of which is coming from a city entertainment tax.
