Several potential jurors let go at Blagojevich trial

CHICAGO (AP) -- A jury inched closer to being seated at the corruption trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

But it's still likely to be days before all the jurors have been chosen.

As the second day of the trial resumed Friday, attorneys raised objections to 19 prospective jurors out of the 29 questioned Thursday. Judge James B. Zagel granted just nine challenges, releasing them to go home.

The judge refused a defense request to release one man who once believed Blagojevich was guilty. He granted a request from prosecutors to let a woman go who said she'd resort to prayer to help her decide guilt or innocence.

No one has yet been seated on the jury. Later, lawyers will be able to dismiss a limited number of potential jurors without providing a cause.
