Meth bust shakes West County neighborhood

I just got back from Manchester, Mo. Residents there on the 1000 block of Big Bend Station road are still talking about a late afternoon home explosion.

Police say the explosion started when a house sitter and his friends started making a meth lab in the basement. The impact of the blast lifted the home off the foundation and dropped it back down. Broken glass and siding littered the neighborhood. Although the house did not come totally apart, there is significant damage to the home.

As of Thursday, police have the house sitter in custody, and investigators are now searching for four other people who were in the home during the blast. Neighbors say the house sitter is in his 20's and he took over watching the house after his grandmother moved to California because of a medical condition.
